Introduction
The very first human civilizations began in this great region eventually spreading toward the east. Out of respect and awe, the Ancient Romans referred to it as the “Orient,” the place where the sun rises, from the Latin oriens.
The Ancient Orient world includes not only West Asian countries such as Iraq, Syria, Turkey, and Iran, but also Egypt. These brilliant civilizations have experienced tumultuous ups and downs over time.
In fact, the civilizations and culture created by the people of the Ancient Orient continue today in our daily lives, although in different shapes and forms. This is just the first part of a long, long path that leads to you and me. Let’s take a journey together to discover where we came from.
